Chilliwack Bruins News Release

Chilliwack BC - The Chilliwack Bruins are pleased to announce that their game this Sunday versus the Kelowna Rockets is a complete sell out, with all seats and standing room tickets snapped up by mid morning Wednesday. 'What a great way to welcome back our players after a tiring and lengthy road trip,' comments Barry Douglas, Director of Marketing. 'The atmosphere in Prospera Centre should be electric!'

The Bruins would also like to announce that defenseman Brandon Manning (90) and forward Kevin Sundher (92) will join the team for the balance of the season and playoffs. Manning has just completed his playoffs with the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL. Manning, a 6'1" 175 pound defender, is a Prince George BC product and will join fellow PG resident Ryan Howse on the Bruins. Manning collected seven goals and nineteen assists for twenty six points and also amassed 108 PIM this past season. Manning also posted three assists in four playoff games for the Spruce Kings.

Sundher, the Bruins first round draft pick, seventh overall, in the 2007 WHL Bantam draft, has just completed his season with the West Valley Hawks in the BC Major Midget League. Sundher, a 5'11" centre, is a Surrey BC resident who notched twenty goals and thirty four assists for 54 points in forty games played this season for the Hawks. Sundher also played five games for the Chilliwack Bruins so far this season, posting an assist on the game tying goal in the Bruins 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings back in mid-February.

The Bruins will play their next game on Saturday night, when they travel to Spokane for a game and possibly first round playoff preview against the Spokane Chiefs. The Bruins return home for their first home game in nearly three weeks on Sunday with the game mentioned above versus the Kelowna Rockets.
