Bruins Increase Archibald's Role

The Chilliwack Bruins are pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Archibald to the position of Hockey Operations Advisor and Community Liaison. Archibald, who has served as Bruins Assistant Coach this season will take on these additional roles effective immediately.

"We are thrilled to add Dave to our management staff," said Bruins President and General Manager Darryl Porter. "He will play an integral role in planning how we improve our hockey operations moving forward while also improving our link to our community. Dave is a highly respected businessman in Chilliwack and in my opinion is the best hockey player to originate from Chilliwack."

Archibald played parts of four seasons with the Western Hockey League's Portland Winter Hawks before being drafted sixth overall by the NHL's Minnesota North Stars in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Archibald went on to play 323 NHL games with the North Stars, Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers and New York Islanders. He also served as a member of Team Canada at the international level capturing silver medals at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympics.

"I'm thrilled to be given this opportunity," stated Archibald who took on the role of Assistant Coach with the Bruins prior to this season. "It's been great to be back involved in the Western Hockey League and for this opportunity to come in Chilliwack where I was born and raised makes it extra special."
