Hershey Bears News Release
The BEARS are shutout in Rhode Island 4-0 by the Bruins at Dunkin Donuts Center on Sunday.
Providence got the scoring underway at 4:19 of the first period when Ben Walter scored his 13th goal of the season. The shot into the top right corner past BEARS goaltender Maxime Daigneault came after HERSHEY opened the game with an 8-0 shot run. The Bruins would take a 1-0 lead to the dressing room after one.
In the second period, it was more of the same as the BEARS limited the Bruins to four shots, but Providence would score a power play tally late in the period. Jonathan Sigalet scored his 6th of the season at 17:37 of the period to lift the Bruins to a 2-0 lead. HERSHEY would outshoot Providence 11-4 in the second, but trail by two heading to the third period.
The Bruins would continue to set the offensive pace in the final period, scoring at the 10:23 mark on the power play. Eric Healey picked up his 28th of the season to give Providence a 3-0 lead. Jason MacDonald would round out the scoring with his ninth of the season at the 19:01 mark to give the P-Bruins the victory.
The BEARS will conclude the club's current five-game road trip Friday at Binghamton before hosting the Albany River Rats next Saturday night. Tickets for all BEARS home games are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
