Cleveland Barons News Release

PEORIA, IL -- Reed Low and Gavin Morgan each tallied a goal and assist to lead Peoria over the Barons 4-1 on Sunday evening. Reinhard Divis registered 34 saves in the winning effort.

Seventeen shots on goal in the period was not enough for the Barons, who trailed 1-0 at Peoria following twenty minutes of action. The one critical mistake Cleveland made led to a breakaway goal from Jon DiSalvatore, his 11th of the year. The goal, scored at 11:58 of the period, was assisted by Reed Low and Gavin Morgan. Dimitri Patzold made his 26th appearance of the year in goal for the Barons with 10 saves in the first period. Reinhard Divis made his fourth appearance against the Barons this year and 31st overall with a 17 save effort.

Three unanswered goals from Peoria put the game away as the Rivermen led 4-0 through forty minutes of play. Reed Low scored his second goal in as many games to extend the lead to 2-0 at the 10:11 mark. A little over four minutes later Cam Keith registered a short-handed goal for the three goal advantage before Gavin Morgan deposited a power play goal for the period?s final tally. Reinhard Divis, who made a total of 34 saves on the day, assisted on the Morgan goal.

The Barons foiled Divis? quest for a third shutout of the year as Riley Armstrong scored his third goal of the season with 18 seconds to go in the game. Craig Valette earned the only assist on the Armstrong goal. The Barons avoided being shutout on consecutive nights and for the fourth time in the last seven games.

Friday night the Barons complete their current four-game road trip with a visit to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The matchup against the North Division leading Griffins will be the only game of the week for Cleveland.

The Barons do not return to home ice until Thursday, March 23rd when they battle the AHL?s top team, the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7pm. Tickets for that night?s action are available for as little as $9 per ticket at the Quicken Loans Arena Box Office. Following the game on the 23rd the Barons will kick-start the month of April with a five-game home stand to close out the regular season with a back-to-back weekend series against the Iowa Stars on the 1st and 2nd.
