
Brouwer signs NHL deal

Moose Jaw, Sask. -- The National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks have announced that 2005-06 Moose Jaw Warrior captain Troy Brouwer has signed a 3-year contract with their hockey club.
A 20-year old native of Delta, B.C., Brouwer was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round, 214th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Brouwer led the WHL in scoring this past season with 49 goals and 102 points and led Moose Jaw to their first ever Eastern Conference title.
Brouwer was also named a First Team All Star.
In other WHL news, the Regina Pats have announced that head coach Curtis Hunt, assistant Terry Perkins, scouting director Todd Ripplinger and trainer Grey Mayer have agreed to contract extensions.
The Red Deer Rebels have shipped forward Tanner Gillies to the Tri-City Americans for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2008 WHL bantam draft.
