NILES, OHIO (July 24, 2018) - In a rain-shortened contest, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets were shut out 1-0 after five innings by Zach Draper and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers Tuesday night at Eastwood Field in the series opener.

BIG MOMENTS
Scrappers starter Zach Draper struck out five over five scoreless innings en route to the victory. Draper retired the first six men he faced, allowing two hits and two walks.
Christian James allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the third inning, yielding an RBI single to Mahoning Valley's Jose Fermin. James scattered five hits over 4 2/3 innings, striking out three in the loss.
