
Brockton Rox Drop Torrington Titans 6-2 Behind Turner's Early Single

The Brockton Rox (4-3) built an early lead against the Torrington Titans (3-4), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-2 win on Thursday at Campanelli Stadium.
The Brockton Rox scored in the first on an RBI single by Trent Turner, an RBI single by Brett McManus, and an RBI single by Alex Perry.
David Griffin kept contact to a minimum, striking out three the Torrington Titans batters. Griffin allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over five innings.
Michael Purcell paced the Torrington Titans at the plate. Purcell went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second, sixth, and eighth innings.
Malachi Emond (0-1) took the loss for the Torrington Titans. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
