
Brocker Has Contract Purchased by Atlanta Braves

NORMAL, Ill. - The Atlanta Braves have purchased the contract of right handed pitcher Cole Brocker from the Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers.
The Appleton, Wis. native, Brocker, has appeared in 19 games for the CornBelters this season. He has posted a 1.50 ERA over 30 innings while striking out 36 batters. He has a 1-1 record and has recorded one save.
"We are thrilled for Cole. It is always a good day when one of your players gets to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing affiliated baseball," said CornBelters Field Manager Brooks Carey. "All of his hard work and dedication to the game is being rewarded. He will be very successful and we wish him the best of luck in the future."
Brocker came to the CornBelters after finishing his colligate career at Oregon State University. The right-handed pitcher appeared in 14 games and recorded a 3.86 ERA while striking out 11 batters in his senior season. He played for the Palm Springs Power in the California Winter League where he tossed 16.2 innings with 22 strikeouts and a 0.54 ERA.
Brocker was drafted in the 39th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Detroit Tigers, but did not sign.
