February 3, 2020 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
London Knights News Release

The month of January saw rookie goaltender Brett Brochu steal the show from his teammates. The offensive juggernaut that London puts on the ice every night has been matched with shutdown net-minding. Brochu's incredible performance has earned him dual honours from the League; Rookie of the Month and Goaltender of the Month.

Over the nine January games that Brochu lined up between the pipes, the seventeen-year-old had a save percentage of .940, a goals-against average of 1.89, and no losses. As of February 3rd, Brochu has a win-streak of 11, keeping him perfect so far throughout 2020.

The Tilbury, Ontario native has been gaining increasing recognition over the course of the season. With two solo shutouts over his 30 appearances and a .916 save percentage over the same length of time, Brochu has fit into his new role wonderfully.

Brochu's season-long save percentage places him fourth league-wide, behind Nico Daws, Jacob Ingham, and Cedrick Andree. With a goals-against average of 2.52, Brochu ranks third behind only Andree and Daws.

Among other rookie goaltenders in the league, Brochu is paving the way. His goals-against average and save percentage both lead all rookies by a wide margin, and garners a win total seven games higher than the next first-year.
