Tulsa Oilers News Release
Along with numerous notable familiar faces, there will also be some friendly voices attending the Tulsa Oilers alumni game Saturday at the Oilers Ice Center at 7 p.m.
Former team broadcasters Jeff Brucculeri and Tim Saunders will attend the game, which will feature former Oiler players such as Doug Lawrence, Jason Bermingham, Luc Beausoleil, Don MacIver, Larry Hopkins and several other former Oiler players.
Brucculeri was the team's broadcaster in 1992-93, the first season of the revitalized Central Hockey League. He called the team's championship that season. He has broadcast more games, 258, than any other Oilers broadcaster.
Saunders is currently the radio play-by-play voice of the Philadelphia Flyers. He accepted a personal invitation from Oilers' owner Jeff Lund to attend.
"Jeff is still one of the best friends I have, and along with the chance to see the group of guys there, I couldn't pass it up," Saunders said. He indicated he even adjusted a family event in order to be on hand.
Tickets for the alumni evening are $10 for Oiler season ticket holders and $15 for non season ticket holders. The ticket includes admission to the game and a post-game party with the players where fans will be able mingle, take pictures and get autographs.
Oiler alumni tickets are available at the team's administrative office located at 9128 East 46^th Street (off 46^th and Memorial between Memorial and Mingo) in the Spirit Bank building.
The Oilers will play their first home game in the BOK Center, on Saturday October 25^th , against the arch rival Oklahoma City Blazers. Season tickets for the Oilers 2008-09 season in the new BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
