Montreal, Sept. 9, 2009 - The Montreal Alouettes and the team's Players' Wives Association are pleased to announce the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive will be back in Montreal when the Als take on the BC Lions this Sept. 13 at Percival Molson Stadium.
As of 11:30 a.m. through the end of the first quarter, the players' wives will help Purolator and Sun Youth volunteers to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations at each entrance of the stadium, with donors having a chance to be photographed with the Grey Cup.
Donors will also enter a draw for a pair of tickets to the 2009 Grey Cup to be held on Nov. 29 at Calgary's McMahon Stadium and will have a chance to win an autographed Anthony Calvillo jersey.
Purolator has helped deliver more than 2.5 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada since 2003. In Montreal alone, the Tackle Hunger program has collected over 34,720 pounds of food since 2006.
