Kansas City Brigade News Release

Kansas City, Mo. (Jan. 10) - Combine the comforts of a professional studio with the experience of local pro sports dancers and the result is an opportunity unlike anything in Kansas City for aspiring cheerleaders and dancers. The Brigade Girls, led by Director Gretchen Bretz, are proud to launch the Brigade Girls Cadettes, a junior program for the 2007 season.

Young ladies ages 6-14 can now be part of the largest and most innovative dance team in the Arena Football League. Cadettes will receive their own official uniform, complete with performance boots and pom-pons. The uniforms will be on display during the Cadettes' halftime performances at the April 14 and May 26 home games. At least 20 weeks of classes taught by current Brigade Girls at the Brigade Girls Dance Center will fully prepare the Cadettes for their performances and their future in dance and cheer.

"We've wanted to have this program for a while so that girls can take advantage of our resources," Bretz said. "We're offering professional classes in our very own studio, and what parent doesn't want to take pictures of their daughter on the field in uniform during halftime."

The first meeting and registration will be Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dance Center. Classes begin Wednesday, Jan. 31 and run weekly until Wednesday, June 27. The final deadline to register for the program is Wednesday, Mar. 7.
