Columbus Destroyers Sign Veteran Fullback Chris Floyd

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Destroyers have signed fullback Chris Floyd, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today.

Floyd (6-2, 235, Michigan) was the 20th selection of the third round in the 1998 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. In his six-year National Football League career suited up in 31 contests carrying the ball 14 times for 33 yards. After being released by the Patriots in 2000, he had stints with the Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Bears.

Floyd was a member of the 1997 University of Michigan National Championship team and played alongside the likes of quarterback Brian Griese and defensive back and Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson. At Ann Arbor, he carried the ball 144 times for 616 yards and scored twice. The Detroit, Mich., native has spent the last four seasons as a graduate assistant and strength and conditioning trainer at his alma mater.
