Crush's Damian Harrell wecomes former NFL star Peter Warrick to the AFL

DENVER - Over the last two years, Colorado Crush wide receiver DAMIAN HARRELL has been one of the Arena Football League's most prolific offensive weapons capturing back-to-back Offensive Player of the Year honors. Entering the 2007 season however, he may have some stiff competition from a former college teammate.
Last week, the Las Vegas Gladiators announced the signing of wide receiver PETER WARRICK. Warrick, a former 4th overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft by Cincinnati, played four seasons for the Bengals. In 2005, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks and remained with the club throughout their Super Bowl XL run. Warrick now brings his talents to the AFL with the intent of exciting fans and showcasing his skills once again.
Both Harrell and Warrick played together in Tallahassee at Florida State University during the 1995-1997 seasons. Now, one of the AFL's best welcomes in its newest recruit.
"I am excited," said Harrell. "Having a player of his caliber coming to play in the AFL gives our league a lot of credibility. I am going to be like everyone else and be watching to see what he is going to do. I think that the skills that Peter has and the type of receiver he is will translate over to the AFL very easily and allow him to have a lot of success."
Harrell went on to explain, "Regardless if you are playing the indoor or the outdoor game, it comes down to running routes and getting open and the Peter I remember from our time at FSU was that he was one of our best route runners. He has great footwork, which will definitely be an asset playing in this league."
Arena Football fans will get a mid-season treat this year, when the Crush host the Gladiators on Friday, April 20th. Having both Harrell and Warrick on the field will surely make the Pepsi Center scoreboard light up and make any Seminole alumni very proud.
The Colorado Crush kickoff their fifth season in the Arena Football League when they host the Grand Rapids Rampage on Sunday, March 4th at 1:00 p.m. MT at Pepsi Center. Over the last three years, the Crush have captured more wins than any other team in the AFL and will look to defend their back-to-back Central Division titles in 2007.
