
Bridgeport's Rally Falls Short

(Bridgeport, Conn.) - The Bridgeport Bluefish were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 6-4 in Friday night's game at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
Bridgeport starter Kelvin Villa (1-3) struggled in the first two innings, giving up five runs. He settled down to finish eight strong innings striking out seven and allowing six runs.
The 'Fish were trailing 6-1 going into the bottom of the eighth. The team mustered out three runs to cut the lead to the 6-4. That's where it ended as the squad was shut down in the ninth by Lancaster closer Jason Urquidez, who picked up his 13th save of the season.
The win went to Horacio Ramirez (5-1). He went into the eighth inning and gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits.
