Brewers #1 Prospect Shelved

Brad Nelson, the Brewers #1 rated prospect according to Baseball America has been put on the Disabled List today. The Brewers announced that Nelson has been put on the seven-day DL due to a sore right wrist. It is undetermined how long Nelson will actually be sidelined. Taking Nelson's spot on the roster will be Mark Ernster, who will be called up from Beloit and join the team on Saturday. The 25-year old Ernster, played 28 games in AA Huntsville in 2001, and did not play at all in 2002. In 2003, Ernster is hitting .226 with one home run and five RBIs for the Beloit Snappers of the Midwest League. The Mavericks will be home this weekend as they face the Lancaster JetHawks, one of three teams tied atop the South Division at 7-5. The Mavericks look to win their second straight on Friday night as they face the JetHawks in game two of the four-game set. Game time on Friday is 7:05. The Mavericks are home over the weekend as they face Lancaster at 3:05 on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Mavericks host the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino in the first of four straight, beginning Monday, as the homestand at Mavericks Stadium continues.
