Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
The Corpus Christi Rayz Hockey Team is proud to present Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the American Bank Center on Saturday November 18th at 7:05pm. The Rayz host the New Mexico Scorpions on Fine Jewelry Outlet and Planet 102.3FM Ladies Night, Presented by KZTV Action-10. Throughout the evening, the Rayz will be teaming up with local area breast cancer programs and the American Cancer Society to help educate fans and raise awareness and money towards the fight against breast cancer. Portions of the proceeds from ticket sales and events at the arena will go to local breast cancer support programs, created by the American Cancer Society. For information on how you can be a part of this night, please call the Rayz at (361) 814-PUCK.
As part of the festivities on Saturday night, the Rayz will theme the evening around Breast Cancer Awareness. The Rayz have joined forces with the American Cancer Society and local programs such as "Reach to Recovery," "Breast Prosthesis Program" and "Look Good...Feel Better." These programs all benefit local breast cancer patients and survivors. At the game each Rayz player will have a pink hockey stick that will be used at various points throughout the game. The sticks will then be autographed and auctioned off to fans at the game, with proceeds benefiting the local breast cancer programs. Additionally, several South Texas Breast Cancer Survivors will be recognized throughout the night.
On Saturday night, the first 3,000 fans at the American Bank Center will receive special Breast Cancer Awareness beads. The American Bank Center concourse will be decorated in pink and Rayz players will wear pink armbands over their jerseys throughout the game. The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life Committees will be providing "pink sheet" breast cancer information, and selling tickets prior to the game with portions of the sales going directly to the charitable donations. The Rayz encourage all of South Texas to take part in this important fight against breast cancer. For more information on how to be a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Night or to make a donation, please call the Rayz at (361) 814-PUCK.
