Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week Announced

The Week Four recipients of the Oakley Central Hockey League Player and Goaltender of the Week awards have been determined. New Mexico left winger Lance Herauf has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week after establishing a CHL season high with six points in a single contest, while Lubbock's Kyle Stanton allowed just one goal against in two victories to earn selection as the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week.
Herauf's strong week started with a pair of assists in a November 9th 4-2 home win over Lubbock, setting the stage for a six point game the following night in Colorado. Herauf scored his first two professional goals and assisted on four others in the Scorpions 7-6 loss. Herauf's 10 assists and +7 rating lead all CHL rookies, and his 12 total points places him second to just Lubbock rookie Simon Watson's 14.
Cotton Kings rookie Stanton picked up his fifth and sixth wins of the season during the past week with a pair of home victories. Stanton turned aside 36 of 37 shots faced Friday night in a 6-1 win over Amarillo, then turned in his first professional shutout the following evening, making 19 saves in a 3-0 win over Rocky Mountain. Stanton currently ranks among the top five of all CHL goaltenders with five wins, a 2.31 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.
