
Breakers Look for Comeback Win against Red Stars

The Boston Breakers head to Benedictine University Sports Complex in Lisle, Illinios to take on the Chicago Red Stars in the Breakers second to last game of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) 2014 season (kickoff 8:00 p.m. EST).
This is also the last game between the two teams, who haven't met since May in back to back games in which the Red Stars took home both wins. Chicago is in fifth with a record of 8-7-7 while the Breakers remain in last place with a record of 5-15-2. While the Breakers are out of the playoffs, the Red Stars have kept their playoff dreams alive after winning their last match against FC Kansas City.
In their last meeting, the Red Stars walked away with a 4-1 win after Michelle Wenino, Chicago Red Star defender, found the back of net after a scramble around the Breakers box in the 23rd minute. Heather O'Reilly, Boston Breakers Midfielder, came back in the 35th minute beating Chicago goalkeeper, Karina LeBlanc tying up the game. However, in the 50th minute the Red Stars took the lead for good when Jen Hoy scored followed by Lori Chalupny goal in the 57th minute. The final goal came from Zakiya Bywaters in the 85th minute ending the game 4-1 Red Stars.
O'Reilly scored her ninth goal of the season in the Breakers last game and is seated sixth in for the NWSL for goals. She also has played in 20 out of the 22 games played by the Breakers starting in 19 of them. Alyssa Naeher, Boston goalkeeper, currently holds the top spot in saves with 95 and ties the most saves made in one game with ten.
Chalupny, captain of the Chicago Red Stars, has started in all 21 of the Red Stars season and has five goals this season. LeBlanc is in the third place spot for goalkeeping leaders and has had 68 saves this season.

The Breakers will return to Harvard Stadium Sunday, August 17th for their final game of the season playing the Houston Dash (kickoff 6:30 p.m. EST).
