
Braves Lose In 10 Innings

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats beat the Richmond Braves 6-5 in 10 innings Tuesday at Louisville Slugger Field. The Braves overcame a three run deficit to force extra-innings but saw their three game winning streak end.
Richmond jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by T.J. Bohn and Barbaro Canizares. Louisville cut the lead in half in the second on the first of two solo home runs by Dewayne Wise. The Bats took a 4-2 lead in the fifth on a three-run home run by Joey Votto. Wise smacked another solo shot in the sixth to give the Bats a 5-2 advantage. Richmond rallied back in the seventh when Carlos Mendez drilled a two-run pinch hit homer to trim the Bats lead to 5-4. The Braves tied the game in the ninth on an RBI single by Gregor Blanco. Louisville won the game in the 10th on an RBI single by Anderson Machado.
Wes Wilkerson picked up the win in relief. Manny Acosta took the loss. Wes Timmons and Yunel Escobar had two hits for the Braves. Wise and Votto each had three hits for the Bats.
The Braves and Bats conclude their two game series Wednesday at 11:05 AM. Buddy Carlyle will pitch for the Braves against the Bats Homer Bailey.
