Braves give up five early runs and lose game one

Jackson, TN- In the first game of a three game series, the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx scored five runs in the first two innings and never looked back against the Braves. The loss gives the Braves a (13-15) record for the month of August and a record of (10-9) against West Tenn in 2010.

In the top of the 1st inning, the Diamond-Jaxx sent eight batters to the plate and half of them scored. Alex Liddi, Carlos Peguero and Leury Bonilla all had RBI's and the D-Jaxx led 4-0 after one inning. In the top of the 2nd, Christian Colonel collected a triple and eventually scored on a ground out from Michael Daniel. In the bottom of the inning, West Tenn's Scott Savastano belted a solo home run to make the score 5-1 in favor of West Tenn.

West Tenn added a run in the 6th after a triple from Carlos Peguero and a sac-fly RBI from Leury Bonilla to make the score 6-1. The final Braves run came in the 7th inning on an RBI single from Yasser Gomez to score Dan Nelson. West Tenn ended the scoring with a run in the 8th inning. Joe Dunigan doubled and came in on an error by Mycal Jones to put the score at 7-2. That would be the final. 

Tomorrow, the Braves and D-Jaxx will play at 12:05 at Pringles Park. Mississippi will send out RHP J.J. Hoover (0-1; 7.71) to face West Tenn's LHP Jim Gillheeney (0-1; 9.64).
