Mississippi came back in the bottom of the inning after Gregor Blanco ripped a double to left. Luis Hernandez sacrifice-bunted him over to third and he came in to score on a sacrifice fly by Martin Prado making the score 1-1.

West Tenn took a 4-1 lead in the third when Micah Hoffpauir ripped his ninth homer of the year. They extended their lead to 5-1 in the fifth when Eric Patterson walked and scored on a double by Luis Montanez.
