Charlotte Knights News Release
FORT MILL, S.C. - August 13, 2008 - It wasn't a pretty night for the Charlotte Knights as they were 16-6 losers to visiting Richmond. Knights pitchers allowed 10 walks in Richmond's final visit to Knights Stadium.
Derek Rodriguez made a spot start for the Knights in place of scheduled starter Clayton Richard who was recalled to Chicago. Rodriguez labored through three innings allowing a three run first inning. The newest Knight pitcher Franklyn German earned the loss.
The only bright spot for Charlotte was DH Royce Huffman who went 3-4 with a home run and four RBI's. Huffman was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
The Knights will have an off day on Thursday before beginning a four game road trip at Norfolk.
The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For ticket or event information, please contact the Knights front office at (704) 357-8071 or (803) 548-8050 or visit our website at www.charlotteknights.com for more information.
