DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls allowed six runs over the game's first two innings en route to an 11-1 loss at the hands of the Gwinnett Braves Friday night at the DBAP, dropping their fourth straight contest.

Gwinnett (61-72) took control of the game from the very first inning, taking the lead on a two-run homer to right by Mel Rojas Jr. The lead ballooned in the second frame when Daniel Castro drove home Ronnier Mustelier on a double to center field. Emilio Bonifacio singled two batters later to score Castro, and Reid Brignac singled to center to score Braeden Schlehuber. Rio Ruiz capped the inning with an RBI single to right field, giving the visitors a 6-0 lead.

In the fifth the G-Braves struck again, as Rojas Jr. ripped an RBI double to score Brignac, and Blake Lalli's single plated Rojas Jr. to increase the lead to eight runs. Gwinnett continued to pour it on in the eighth frame on a pair of RBI groundouts, but the Bulls (57-77) got on the board in the eighth inning when Richie Shaffer doubled and later scored on Jake Goebbert's RBI single for a 10-1 score. The Braves closed the scoring in the ninth by scoring one final time when Rojas Jr. tripled leading off the frame and scored on Ruiz's RBI knock.

Tyrell Jenkins (7-3) earned the win for the visitors, allowing five hits and striking out four in five innings. Right-hander Austin Pruitt (8-10) took the loss after tying a season-high by surrendering eight runs on 10 hits across five innings.

Daniel Robertson finished with three of Durham's nine hits, tallying a pair of doubles and earning a walk. Johnny Field went 2-for-5 out of the leadoff spot for his second straight two-hit game.

The teams face off once again Saturday evening, as the rehabbing RHP Alex Cobb (0-1, 8.18) makes the start for Durham against RHP Chris Ellis (4-5, 6.35) for Gwinnett. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at the DBAP.
