August 26, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
The home of the Buffalo Bisons will soon provide a test for golfers from Western New York and Southern Ontario. The Bisons announced today that they will transform the ballpark into The Links at Coca-Cola Field for three days only, Friday, September 16 - Sunday, September 18. Tee times can be booked from 6pm-10pm each day.
A unique, challenging and fun experience awaits golfers at The Links at Coca-Cola Field, a nine-hole par-26 course. Golfers will take their swings from eight tee boxes located around the ballpark, including the Bully Hill Party Deck, home plate and on the club level, as well as a one-hole putting challenge in the Bisons indoor batting cages.
Each golf hole will feature a unique theme, such as craft beer samplings, purchasing mulligans for charity, dealing with crowd noise, 'Happy Gilmore' and double or nothing for the chance to win great prizes. Top scores from the weekend will also be displayed on the BisonsHD Scoreboard with the top golfers over the weekend earning specials Bisons prize packs.
A round of golf at The Links at Coca-Cola Field will cost only $50 per golfer and include a special Links at Coca-Cola Field cap, a logo ball/poker chip ball marker, a post-round beverage and snacks at Pettibones Grille, parking and two Bisons 2017 Opening Day tickets. A premium package, which will also include a limited edition Links at Coca-Cola Field logo Nike golf polo, will cost $80 per golfer.
HOW IT WORKS: Four greens and five holes will be mowed and cut into the Coca-Cola Field outfield for golfers to take aim at (see course map attached). Golfers will be awarded a Birdie-2, Par-3 or Bogey-4 based on where their tee shots land in relation to the hole (no putting other than the Putting Challenge in the batting cages). Distances of the holes will range from 70-133 yards and golfers must bring their own wedges and 9 and 8-irons only for use at the Links at Coca-Cola Field (all golf balls will be provided by OnCore and a putter will be provided for putting challenge).
Golfers will park in the Bisons Exchange St. parking lot and enter the Links at Coca-Cola Field in the centerfield pavilion area. The opening hole tee shot will be taken from the centerfield berm area. After Hole 2 from the Bully Hill Party Deck, golfers will head up to the club level for a pair of shots towards shallow centerfield. Holes 5 and 6 will be on the on the third side, taking golfers towards home plate for Hole 7. After putting through Hole 8 in the Bisons batting cage, golfers will end their round from the Labatt's Blue Zone on the first base side.
