
Bravehearts fall at Old Orchard Beach

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine. - Despite combining for 11 hits, the Worcester Bravehearts coughed up nine runs in two innings to the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide in a 9-4 loss July 19 at The Ball Park in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Every Raging Tide batter recorded at least one hit, as Old Orchard Beach combined for 13 hits.
Despite pitching four scoreless innings, Worcester starter Andrew Bergmann surrendered five hits and four runs to tie the game in the fifth inning.
Old Orchard Beach opened up the game in the sixth inning scoring five runs. Bravehearts reliever Jack Reilly was charged with four runs in the inning and took the loss to drop to 0-2 this season. The recent St. Peter Marian High School graduate did not record an out, and reliever Charlie Butler came in to finish the inning.
Raging Tide pitcher Miguel Silva got his first win of the season, as he pitched four innings in relief and gave up only one run on four hits.
Worcester led 4-0 after five innings thanks to an RBI single and sacrifice fly by first baseman Mark DeYoung. Third baseman Tyler McVicar also chipped in with a 2 RBI double in the third inning, as the Elon University senior finished 3-4 at the plate.
Second baseman Dylan Harris had the most productive night offensively with four singles to finish 4-5 with two runs scored.
The Bravehearts will play a doubleheader against the North Shore Navigators beginning at 2 p.m. July 20 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
