GAME NOTES: The WHEAT KINGS 4-game road trip continues Wednesday night in SASKATOON against the BLADES...BRANDON is coming off last night's 6-3 victory in SWIFT CURRENT...It was the WHEAT KINGS third win in their last four road games...With the win, BRANDON moved back into a third place tie with CALGARY in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference and ten points up on the second place REGINA PATS in the Eastern Division...Winners of two of their last three games, the WHEAT KINGS are currently 30-19-2-7, good for 69 points...At home, BRANDON is 18-4-1-4 (best home ice record of any team in the divi sion) while on the road, the WHEAT KINGS have climbed to within three games of the .500 mark (12-15-1-3)...Before opening the week with a 5-1 loss in REGINA on Sunday, the WHEAT KINGS went 2-1-0-1 on their recent 4-game home stand that ended Saturday night with an impressive 4-2 victory over the CALGARY HITMEN...Following this week's road trip that concludes Friday night in MOOSE JAW, the first place WHEAT KINGS will play nine of their final 12 regular season games on home ice...In their last ten games, the WHEATS are 5-4-0-1...In games against Eastern Division rivals, BRANDON is 14-9-2-5 and 3-2-0 in February (BRANDON was 7-4-0-2 in January)...BRANDON returns home on Saturday night to close out a weekend home and home series with the sixth place WARRIORS.

VS. SASKATOON: This is the seventh meeting of the season between the WHEAT KINGS and BLADES...BRANDON is 4-1-0-1 against the BLADES...WHEAT KINGS only loss (in regulation time) came eight days ago when SASKATOON scored two powerplay goals en route to a 3-1 victory at the Keystone Centre...BRANDON has outscored the BLADES 16-11...At Credit Union Place, the WHEAT KINGS are 2-0-0 but haven't played in SASKATOON since November 24th...MARK DERLAGO (4-3-7), DANIEL BARTEK (5-0-5) and RYAN REAVES (2-3-5) lead BRANDON in scoring in the 6-game season series while netminders JOE CALIGIURI and TYLER PLANTE have combined to post a 1.49 goals against average and a .935 save percentage in five appearances.

LAST GAME: The WHEAT KINGS scored four powerplay goals en route to a 6-3 victory over the BRONCOS in SWIFT CURRENT Tuesday night...ANDREW CLARK and MARK DERLAGO paced the winners with two goals each...CLARK added a pair of assists while ROB KLINKHAMMER scored once and set up two others...CODEY BURKI also scored for the WHEAT KINGS, who outshot the BRONCOS 38-32 and led 2-1 and 4-2 at the period breaks...BRANDON scored two goals in each period before 1,681 fans in SWIFT CURRENT.

MILESTONES: Captain MARK DERLAGO has closed to within 4 games of 200 in his WHL career. He's also 9 points shy of 150...CODEY BURKI is three assists shy of the century mark and is set to play in his 250th career WHL game Wednesday night in SASKATOON...Tuesday's win was KELLY McCRIMMON'S 147th career coaching victory - third most in franchise history (behind BOB LOWES, DUNC MCCALLUM)...RYAN REAVES is 9 games away from 200...16-year old COLBY ROBAK, who will represent Manitoba at the Canada Winter Games later this month, scored his first ever WHL goal on home ice in Saturday's win over the HITMEN...Netminder TYLER PLANTE has moved to within 3 games of BYRON PEN STOCK and second place on the club's all time list. He's also third in minutes played (8,976). His 10 career shutouts also represent a franchise high.

BEHIND THE NUMBERS: Since Christmas, 18-year old ANDREW CLARK leads the club in scoring (8-8-16) while MARK DERLAGO and CODEY BURKI have 15 points each...BURKI is 9th in the WHL scoring race (27-39-66) while DERLAGO'S 36 goals are third best in the league. His 19 powerplay goals are tied for second...DERLAGO is 18th overall (36-24-60)...JEFF TOPILKO has points in seven of his last 8 games (3-6-9)...TYLER PLANTE is 13th in the WHL (2.77 goals against average), he's third in minutes played (2669) and second in saves (1248)...Rookie JOE CALIGIURI is riding a 3-game win streak and has a 1.74 goals against average during his last four appearances...JURAJ SIMEK is 6th in Rookie Scoring with 25 goals a nd 52 points in 48 games.

BRANDON BITS: Thanks to Tuesday's 4-goal outburst, BRANDON'S powerplay has improved to 4th in the WHL (20.1%) while its penalty killing is 15th (81.4%)...DANIEL BARTEK is second among first year players with 3 shorthanded goals...In Shootouts this season, BRANDON is 3-7-0...While MARK DERLAGO leads the club with 5 game winning goals, former PORTLAND WINTER HAWK ROB KLINKHAMMER has six combined between the two teams...19-year old ST.
