GAME NOTES: The WHEAT KINGS begin a busy 3-game in three night Western Hockey League weekend Friday night in SASKATOON against the BLADES...BRANDON closes out a home and home series with the BLADES back at the Keystone Centre on Saturday before closing out the weekend Sunday night against PRINCE ALBERT...BRANDON enters the weekend riding a modest 2-game win streak, after posting back to back victories last weekend over PORTLAND and PRINCE ALBERT...BRANDON currently leads the Eastern Division with a record of 13-10-0-2, good for 28 points and a slim one point lead on the second place SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS and a four point cushion on third place REGINA...The WHEAT KINGS do have two games in hand on the BRONCOS...Entering the final weekend of play in the month of November, BRANDON is the only Eastern Division team with a record above the .500 mark (SWIFT CURRENT is 13-13-1-0)...The WHEAT KINGS are 8-3-0-1 at home this season and 5-7-01 on the road...In their past ten games, they're 5-5-0...During the month of November, BRANDON is 4-4-0...WHEATS are 5-3-0-1 vs. Eastern Division rivals...5-4-0 against Central Division clubs and 2-3-0-1 vs. Western teams.

VS. SASKATOON: This will be the second meeting of the season between these two teams...Backed by the solid netminding of rookie JOE CALIGUIRI, the WHEAT KINGS edged the BLADES 3-2 on October 14th in SASKATOON...During the 2005-06 campaign, BRANDON posted a 2-8-0 record against the BLADES...TEEGAN MOORE led the WHEATS in season scoring against the BLADES with six goals and 10 points...TYLER PLANTE was 1-6-0 with a 4.39 goals against average in eight appearances against SASKATOON.

LAST GAME: The WHEAT KINGS outshot the RAIDERS 27-18 including 13-5 in the final period en route to a 3-1 victory Saturday night over PRINCE ALBERT...BRANDON received a 17-save performance from netminder JOE CALIGIURI and goals from MARK DERLAGO, CODEY BURKI and JAY FEHR. With the win, CALIGIURI improved his overall record to 4-1-0, his goals against average to 2.01 and his save percentage to .922.

OTHER NUMBERS: Entering the weekend, all star center CODEY BURKI is tied with RED DEER'S MARTIN HANZAL for the WHL scoring lead with eighteen goals and 38 points...His 18 goals are tied with teammate MARK DERLAGO for second in the league (KRIS HOGG of LETHBRIDGE has 19)...BURKI'S 11 powerplay goals leads the WHEAT KINGS and place him second in the WHL...BURKI has points in 14 of his last 15 games (11-14-25) and 21 of BRANDON'S first 25 games...DERLAGO (18-14-32) and Slovakian born JURAJ SIMEK (16-16-32) are tied for seventh in the WHL scoring race...SIMEK'S 16 goals leads all first year players (MARK SANTORELLI of VANCOUVER is second with 15)...SIMEK is 5-5-10 in his last eight games...Former PEMBINA VALLEY HAWK JAY FEHR i s 3-2-5 in his last five games...JOE CALIGIURI is unbeaten (3-0-0) with a sparkling 1.33 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in his last three games...DUSTIN KOHN (2-22-24) is sixth in scoring among WHL blueliners...THERAN YEO, who leads the league in minor penalties, is second in the WHL with 104 penalty minutes.

MILESTONES: Netminder TYLER PLANTE, who has lost his last three decisions, has moved to within two games of JAMIE HODSON and fourth place on the club's all time list for games played. PLANTE has appeared in 129 career games. As for minutes played, he's already fourth on the team's all time list (7,449) and his 2.97 career goals against average is second only to ROBERT MCVICAR in franchise history...Captain TEEGAN MOORE will be playing his 284th career game Saturday, good for 10th place on the club's all time list...Defenceman DUSTIN KOHN is 12 assists shy of the century mark...Former AAA midget league scoring champion NATHAN GREEN collected his first WHL point - an assist - in last Friday's win over the PORTLA ND WINTER HAWKS.

DID YOU KNOW? BRANDON'S powerplay is currently clicking at 25.3%, which leads the WHL while its penalty killing has been 83% efficient, good for 8th place in the 21-team circuit...WHEATS have been outshot in 16 of 25 games this season...WHEATS have lost 29 man games to injury...BRANDON has 24 players on its roster...BRANDON has scored five shorthanded goals...WHEATS are 11-0-0-1 when leading through two periods of play...BRANDON has attracted close to 49,000 fans through 12 home games...DERLAGO and SIMEK share the club lead with 3 game winning tallies...TYLER PLANTE captured the first segment in this year's MTS CONNECT 3 STAR PROGRAM with 45 points (DERLAGO was second with 40)...BRANDON is 0-2 in Shootouts...Def enceman KEITH AULIE received a Rescue Commendation from the LIFESAVING SOCIETY of Saskatchewan last weekend in Regina.
