D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (July 4, 2006) - D.C. United announced today that defender Brandon Prideaux has undergone successful surgery to repair a damaged medial meniscus in his knee. Dr. Chris Annunziata performed the procedure at the Commonwealth Orthopedic VA Hospital Center. Prideaux's recovery will take five weeks.
"We felt it important that Brandon is at full strength as we head into the second half of our season," said United Technical Director Dave Kasper. "With this procedure, Brandon will be fully fit and ready to again contribute to our club in the near future."
In 2006, Prideaux has seen action in five matches (five starts), totaling 424 minutes. The eight-year MLS veteran has been with United since being acquired by the Black-and-Red in January of 2002. Since that time, Prideaux has been a contributing member of United's back line, playing in 112 League matches (102 starts).
