Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba -- Less than a week after designating him for assignment, the Brandon Wheat Kings have dealt 18-year old defencemen Alexander Grill Donovan to the Chilliwack Bruins.
In exchange for the 6'2" 186 lb Calgary product, the Wheat Kings received a sixth round conditional draft choice.
Grill Donovan appeared in five of Brandon's first 12 games this season and during his time with the Wheat Kings, he had 19 penalty minutes in 43 career games.
The move comes three days before Brandon plays its first game in Chilliwack in two years. Friday's game will be the fourth of the Wheat Kings' current 5-game west coast road trip.
Winners of five of their last 7 games (5-1-1-0), the Wheat Kings play in Prince George on Wednesday. Brandon has split its first two games of the trip, defeating Kelowna 3-2 last Saturday night, before losing 3-1 the following night in Kamloops.
