
Brandon Buck Grand & Toy Player Of The Week

(GUELPH) The Guelph Storm announced today that Brandon Buck is the Grand & Toy Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 24th. Buck will also be the Guelph Storm nominee for OHL Player of the Week. The Storm forward scored four times and picked up one assist for five points in three games this weekend. This is Buck's third player of the week honour this season.
Brandon scored twice, including the game winner, on Friday night in the Storm's 4-1 win over the Ottawa 67's and was named the first star of the game for his performance. Saturday night in Owen Sound, Brandon picked up one assist on the Storm's fifth goal of the night in the 5-2 win over the Attack. Brandon finished off his stellar weekend with two goals on Sunday afternoon at the Sleeman Centre. In the 4-3 win over the Sting the 19 year old scored the Storm's first goal of the night as well as the tying marker late in the third. He was awarded with the first star of the game for the second time in three games.
With four goals on the weekend, Buck currently leads his team in goals with 25, three of those game winners. In 50 games this season, the Delaware native sits second on the team in both overall scoring with 49 points and plus/minus with a rating of +12. Buck is tied for first on the team in powerplay tallies with 10 and leads the team in shorthanded markers with two. With nine games remaining in the regular season, Buck has more than tripled his point total from last season.
Next up, Buck and the rest of the Storm play host to the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm and to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors on Friday night at 7:30 pm. Sunday the Storm travel to Brampton to face off against the Battalion at the Powerade Centre for a 2:00 pm start.
