Brandl scores a goal in opening game at WJC

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - Max Brandl of the Prince Albert Raiders scored a goal to help his home country, Germany to a 7-1 win over Lithuania in the opening game of the 2008 Under 20 World Junior Hockey Championships, Division 1 in Bad Tolz, Germany.
Brandl scored the 4th goal in Germany's victory on the first day of the Championships Sunday. Brandl also picked up a slashing minor and was +1.
The Germans take on Poland today.
The WJC Division 1 tournament continues through Sunday. Brandl will return to the Raiders lineup December 27th when they host Saskatoon.
