Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, IDAHO (April 20, 2006) - The Idaho Stampede have announced that Steve Brandes has been promoted to the position of General Manager. He will replace the resigning John Brunelle effective May 1.

"Steve's appointment is recognition of his significant contributions to the success and growth of the Stampede since he joined us in 2002," said Brunelle. "He has worked hard to prepare himself for this opportunity and is ready to hit the ground running in his new role. It will be an easy and smooth transition for the organization, sponsors, and Stampede fans."

Brandes joined the Stampede in the summer of 2002 when he was hired as an Account Executive. Since then he has been promoted to Director of Ticket Sales and Game Operations, Assistant General Manager and now to General Manager. His roles and responsibilities will include overseeing the franchise's day-to-day operations, corporate sales and game day operations as well as play the role of liaison to the NBA Development League office.

"Steve has worked in every facet of the Stampede organization and brings a wealth of experience with him to the General Manager position," said Stampede Managing Partner Bill Ilett. "We are thrilled to be promoting someone from within that lives and breathes the Idaho Stampede. We have the utmost confidence in his ability to continue on a great tradition of success."

Brandes will guide the Stampede as they start a new era within the franchise. As the team moves forward with their transition to the D-league and their affiliation with the Utah Jazz, Brandes sees a bright future ahead.

"I'm very excited for this opportunity. The Treasure Valley is a growing community, the Stampede has a committed local ownership group and the NBA Development League is a tremendous organization," said Brandes, "Those things combined equal a very exciting and long term future for the Stampede. I look forward to working with local business leaders to continue the tradition of excellence in a franchise that provides a first-class basketball product along with affordable family entertainment in the Treasure Valley."
