Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (October 18) - The Texas Brahmas are set to open the 2011-2012 campaign on Saturday, October 22nd at 7:30 pm against the Tulsa Oilers at the NYTEX Sports Centre, while also offering all Brahmas fans to watch Game 3 of the World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

After finishing the 2010-2011 season 34-27-5, head coach Dan Wildfong and the Brahmas begin the new season with many new faces, but a few familiar ones as well. Only four players return from last season, but the CHL's leading goal scorer from a year ago, Chad Woollard, is back for his 7th season with the Brahmas. Woollard is the franchise leader in games played (532), points (400), goals (178), shots (1287), game winning goals (23) and powerplay goals (50). The Brahmas qualified for the CHL Playoffs for a fourth consecutive season. Other returnees include Ross Rouleau, Jim Burichin and Alex Curran.

The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Brahmas T-shirt, and televisions will be set up throughout the NYTEX Sports Centre and in ZuRoma for those wishing to match hockey and baseball together. "We are excited to open up our season and we look forward to sports fans throughout DFW to enjoy a multiple sports night," said Mike Barack, President, Texas Brahmas.
