Linemates Chad Woollard and Martin Paquet combined for seven points and goaltender Dan Murphy stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced to lead the Fort Worth Brahmas to a 4-2 win over the Amarillo Gorillas in CHL hockey action Saturday night at the Amarillo Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas.
The victory for the Brahmas extended their current win streak to six consecutive games and improved the Brahmas record to 9-2-1 on the season. Fort Worth has a CHL best 19 points on the season.
Woollard netted two goals in the game and assisted on one more for a three point night. The tallies for Woollard moved his CHL league leading goal and point totals to 14 and 25 respectively. Paquet had a goal and three assists, raising his point total on the season to 24 (11G/13A).
The Brahmas raced out to a 4-0 lead midway through the second period and then held off the hard working Gorillas. Murphy was especially impressive midway through the third period as he held Amarillo at bay after the Gorillas had scored to cut the Fort Worth lead to 4-2.
