Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

In the preseason opener, the Brahmas traveled to Allen to take on the Americans in at the Allen Event Center, losing a nail-biter in shootouts.

After two periods of scoreless hockey, the Brahmas scored first at the 17:58 mark in the third period with a goal by Jordan Kary, assisted by Phil Fox.

But about ten minutes later, Americans' center Mike Kompon scored the equalizer, assisted by Colton Yellow Horn and Dylan King at the 7:13 mark.

Behind strong goaltending on both sides, the match went to overtime tied at one. The five minute 4-on-4 sudden death overtime period could not settle the game, sending both teams into the shootout.

It took twelve shots to decide the match, but the Brahmas fell short, despite a goal in the shootout from Kyle Howarth. The final score was 2-1 Americans over the Brahmas.

Saturday, Oct. 15, the Brahmas welcome the Americans into the NYTEX Center for their preseason home opener, starting at 7:30pm. For tickets, call 817-336-4ICE(4423) or visit www.brahmas.com.
