
Brahmas Jump out Early for Win Over Wichita

North Richland Hills, TX- Texas (18-14-7) jumped out to a two-goal lead and never trailed, beating Wichita (24-10-2) 5-2 at the NYTEX Sports Centre Saturday night. Wichita cut the lead twice to one, but was unable to get the equalizer and Texas stopped its four-game losing skid to Wichita.
Texas scored twice in the first six minutes of the game, getting the first one at 3:57 from Calin Wild to make it 1-0. Ross Rouleau made it 2-0 with a wrist shot over Thunder goaltender Scott Darling at 6:27. Wichita was limited to just two shots on net.
Beauregard (19) cut into the Brahmas lead as he came down on a break-away, putting it under the arm of Texas goalie Steve Silverthorn. But Rouleau added his second of the game with two minutes left regain a two goal lead for Texas.
In the third period, Wichita cut the lead to 3-2 as Daniel Tetrault (7) scored a power play goal on a two-man advantage. However, Phil Fox made it 4-2 seven minutes later as he found himself all alone infront of Darling and scored. The Brahmas added an empty-net goal and won the game, 5-2. It was the first game this season between the two teams that wasn't decided by one goal. Wichita leads the season series four games to two.
