Brahmas Hold on for 1-0 Win over Rush
January 4, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Brahmas held off the Rapid City Rush for a 1-0 victory Friday night at the Fort Worth Convention Center, improving the team's record in the building to 4-0-0 this season.
After two scoreless periods, the Brahmas wasted no time in getting on the board in the third. Just 36 seconds in, Adam Hogg deflected a Ross Rouleau slapshot from the point past Rapid City netminder Danny Battochio and into the back of the net. For Hogg, it was his 10th goal of the season and fourth in the last six games.
The Brahmas held on the rest of the way behind a strong defensive effort and stingy play between the posts from goaltender Kristofer Westblom.
Westblom stopped all 23 shots fired on net by the Rush en route to his eighth win and league-leading third shutout of the season. Battochio takes the loss for Rapid City despite making 24 saves on 25 shots faced.
The Brahmas (16-12-4) are back in action at the Fort Worth Convention Center tomorrow, Saturday, January 5 when the team hosts the Tulsa Oilers at 7:30pm. Fort Worth is 5-1-1 against the Oilers in 2012-2013.
The Brahmas have reduced individual ticket prices from a season ago, as well as lowering the price of full-season, half-season and 11-game ticket packages for the 2012-2013 season. For more ticket information, please contact a Brahmas sales representative at 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
