Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (January 27)- It will be all Brahmas hockey this week as Texas will play three games in as many nights beginning Thursday on the road in Corpus Christi.
Texas (27-10-4), currently sitting 10 points ahead in first place in the Southeast division, will play Southeast foe Corpus Christi for just the third time this season. The Brahmas have taken both games in the series, and looking to keep the sweep. Forward Jordan Cameron has led the charge against the Ice Rays with 5 points (1 G, 4 A) in two games.
The NYTEX Sports Centre will see some Brahmas action Friday as they host the Mississippi RiverKings on "Cap Night". The first 1000 fans in attendance for the 7:05 PM faceoff at NYTEX will receive a free cap courtesy of NYTEX Sports. On Saturday Texas will face the Tulsa Oilers. The last time the two took the ice, Brahmas forward Grant Jacobsen recorded his first hat trick of the season in a 5-4 victory.
Veteran defenseman Mike Vellinga will return to the blueline from the 14-day IR this week. The Brahmas have traded the rights of defenseman Matt Hanson to Arizona for future considerations. Hanson has played in all 41 games for Texas this season registering 5 points (1 G, 4 A).
