Brahmas Find Win in OT over Bees

February 14, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Lone Star Brahmas News Release

Following back to back shootout losses, the Brahmas were not sealing the entire three game road trip with the same fate as they posted an OT victory over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, 2-1 Friday night.

A scoreless first period primed a goal scoring opportunity for the Bees as they were able to get on the boards first with a goal from Connor Wood. Not to be beat was Brahmas' leading scorer, Sebastian Vidmar in the first six seconds of the third period, notching his 25th goal of the season.

It was a continuation of the "battle of the netminders" in the winding minutes as they each faced several shots respectively in last ditch efforts from their teams. Brahmas' goalie, T.J. Black faced 10 in the final frame alone.

In the extra period the Brahmas' didn't take long to conclude the long road trip when A.J. Vanderbeck scored the game winner at the 1:09 mark unassisted and earned first star honors.
