
Wild and RoadRunners Fight for Game Two

Both the Wild and the RoadRunners returned to the Town Toyota Center for Game Two of this series, and as usual, the game was neck and neck. This match had an out of this world turn out of 3,865 fans and the home team definitely made the crowd proud. Even though Topeka took home the 3-2 win, Wenatchee was out there fighting every step of the way. August Von Ungern-Sternberg made quite the impact once again with his goal and a fight, and as a result, was awarded the game's third star.
There was one goal in the first period and it was scored by Topeka's Mike Gornall seven minutes and eighteen seconds into the frame. The first assist was recorded by Shawn Brennan.
Moving into the second period, Gornall scored his second point of the night with help from Tyler Irvine and Dominic Lutz. This goal was recorded at the 5:06 minute mark. Roughly two and a half minutes later, August Von Ungern-Sternberg put Wenatchee's first point on the board with the help he received from Dakota Raabe and Chris Jones.
At the 4:38 mark of the third frame, Luka Maver scored the RoadRunners' third and final goal of the night. Daniel Brickley picked up the last assist for Topeka. David Powlowski netted the Wild's last point six minutes and fourteen seconds into third. Kyle Stephan and Chris Jones were credited with the last assists of the night.
The Wild would end the game with a shot record of 14-12-13 and had six total penalties. Infractions were called out on Kyle Stephan (Interference), Chris Jones (Tripping), Mike Coyne (Roughing) x2, and August Von Ungern-Sternberg (Fighting (Major)) (Fighting (Game Misconduct)).
Michael Bullion occupied Wenatchee's goal for the night and was able to stop 20 shots on goal out of 23.
Tomorrow, February 14th, marks the last game of this series and what the match it will be. As the fire continues to grow within this rivalry, so does the intensity. This will be a game you don't want to miss! Puck drop is at 7:05 pm PST.
