
Ice Miners Dominate Jets But Can't Solve Jurusik

CONNELLSVILLE, PA - Despite a season high 45 shots, the Ice Miners couldn't get a puck past Janesville goaltender Matt Jurusik and fell to the Jets 1-0 on Friday night at the Ice Mine. The loss ended the Ice Miners nine game point streak and extended the Jets win streak to 11.
The teams played an evenly matched first period that saw 10 shots aside and no scoring. In the 2nd, Keystone outshot Janesville 22-8 but Jurusik kept the game scoreless. 6:20 into the 3rd period, Nils Rygaard finally broke the seal firing a puck up top past Alex Blankenburg. Adam Winborg and Mitch Fossier assisted. Jurusik held strong the rest of the way. It was Janesville's fourth shutout win of the season; three have come against the Ice Miners. Janesville now leads the season series 6-1.
The two teams will wrap up the weekend and season series Saturday night at 7:30 PM. Gates open at the Ice Mine at 6:30. Fans can get tickets online at keystoneiceminershockey.com.
