Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Brahmas opened up the regular season at home Saturday night with a tough 3-0 loss to the Tulsa Oilers.
After a scoreless first period, the Oilers jumped in front 1-0 five minutes into the second behind a Gary Steffes goal.
Steve Silverthorn held Tulsa until the latter part of the third period when Ryan Cramer scored on a powerplay with 6:36 remaining. The Oilers were ü on the powerplay, while the Brahmas failed to cash in on any of their three powerplay opportunities. The Oilers added an empty netter by Patrick Levesque with under two minutes to take a 3-0 lead.
Silverthorn stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced, but he was outdueled by Tulsa goalie Ian Keserich. Keserich saved all 34 shots fired by the Brahmas, leading to his second win and first shutout of the young 2011-12 season.
The Brahmas look to get back on track when they take on the Allen Americans on Fri, October 28th at 7:30 pm at home on magnet schedule night. The Brahmas then get a chance at redemption as they play Tulsa twice in as many days, Sat, October 29th on the road and Sun, October 30th at 4:00 pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
