
Sundogs Come Back in Third for 4-3 Win

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - JP Chabot scored a pair of goals and Daymen Rycroft added the game-winner as the Arizona Sundogs came back in the third period to top the Laredo Bucks by a 4-3 final on Saturday night at Tim's Toyota Center.
The win was the first of the season for Arizona (1-1-0) and the 150th of head coach Marco Pietroniro's career.
Laredo (1-1-0) scored three unanswered goals in the second period to take a 3-2 lead and set up the third period heroics of Chabot and Rycroft. Chabot tallied a power play goal and Rycroft scored off a scrum at the top of the goal crease midway through the final frame.
The Sundogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period after Chabot scored his first of the game from the right circle with 7:06 to play. David Nimmo scored on a loose puck at the front of the net with 1:34 left.
The Bucks picked up their three goals from Todd Griffith, Jason Reese and Rusty Masters. Griffith finished with a goal and two assists in the game. Reese had a goal and a helper.
Levente Szuper stopped 30 shots in his first start of the season for the Sundogs. Torrie Jung took the loss with a 38-save game.
Both teams recorded power play goals as Arizona when 1-for-5 and Laredo went 1-for-4.
The Sundogs continue their home stand on Wednesday when they host the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 PM.
