Brahmas End Regular Season with 2-0 Loss

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Arizona - The Brahmas were shut out by the Arizona Sundogs for the second consecutive game Saturday night, falling by the final score of 2-0 at Tim's Toyota Center.

After a scoreless first period, Mario Larocque found the back of the net on a rebound in front at the 5:21 mark of the middle frame. For Larocque, the score was his first game-winning goal this season.

The Sundogs added an empty-net goal with 43 seconds remaining in regulation as Jeff Kyrzakos backhanded the puck into the net from his own zone.

Kristofer Westblom made 21 saves on 22 shots faced between the posts for Fort Worth.

David Brown earned his second consecutive shutout and third of the season, each of which have come against the Brahmas. The Arizona netminder stopped all 24 shots he faced.

Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.

With the loss, the Brahmas finish the regular season in third place in the Central Hockey League. Fort Worth will face off against the Quad City Mallards in the first round of the postseason, hosting the first two games at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The dates for games one and two will be announced in the coming days.
