Brahmas Dominate Power Play

Prescott Valley, AZ "" The Arizona Sundogs continued their losing skid Saturday night against the Fort Worth Brahmas as the Brahmas were able to pick-up three of their four goals on the power play at the NYTEX Sports Center.

The first period began slow with Brahmas leading shots on goal 6-4. Chad Wollard scored for Fort Worth on the power play after Arizona's Jason Morgan was sent to the box for boarding. The Sundogs went on the penalty kill but was unable to pick up a goal, as Adam Chorneyko caught the post of Kristofer Westblom's net.

Fort Worth's Phil Fox scored the only goal in the second period giving them a two point lead over the Sundogs. The Brahmas began the final period on the power play, when Arizona's Adam Smyth was called for holding at the end of the second period, giving the Brahmas the man advantage and allowing them to score their third goal of the evening. Wollard was credited with his second goal of the night and Ross Rouleau and Shawn Szydlowski both received the assists and picked up two points each, tonight. Sundogs newcomer Matt Tassone scored his first goal of the season with just under six minutes left in regulation. Seconds later Fox tipped in his second goal of the night, unassisted. Derek LeBlanc and Wollard dropped their gloves and were both assessed a five minute roughing major and Wollard was handed a game misconduct for not having his jersey properly tied down.

Adam Russo took the loss for the Sundogs tonight making 25 saves. The Brahmas lead shots on goal 29-18 and were 3-4 on the power play, while the Sundogs were 0-5. Arizona was unable to snap their seven game losing skid, tonight at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The Sundogs are back in Missouri on Tuesday where they will meet the Mavericks for the second time in five days.
