Brahmas blanked by 'Bugs

Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 26)- If a Brahmas victory over the Mudbugs was a Christmas wish, Bossier goaltender John DeCaro was the Grinch Wednesday evening as Texas lost 3-0 in their last game on their longest road trip of the season.

The first period was a good indicator as to how the Brahmas would compete in the game. Both teams played similar styles-a defensive disciplined game, until Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola allowed a Karlis Zirnis goal with four minutes remaining. Bossier outshot Texas 12-6 in the first.

Penalties were assessed in the second to the Brahmas, but fortunately for Head Coach Dan Wildfong his special teams unit was able to blank the 'Bugs. The period ended like it started, in a 1-0 score.

The Brahmas came out into the third with hopes of scoring on Mudbug netminder John DeCaro, who was bidding on shutting out the Brahmas. Prior to the game Texas has scored a goal in every game. DeCaro had other plans as he stopped all 20 Brahmas shots, earning his sixth shutout of the season. Bossier's Kevin Cooper scored a couple of goals for the home crowd resulting in a 3-0 final.

The Brahmas will return home to recoup for Friday, December 28 against Odessa Jackalopes at the NYTEX Sports Centre for a 7:05 PM start. For tickets please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4ICE or log on to www.brahmas.com.
