
Bucks Get Ready For Showdown In Arizona

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will resume practice Wednesday and get ready for a big two-game road series against the Arizona Sundogs Friday and Saturday at Tim's Toyota Center. The Bucks enter this weekends games three points ahead of Arizona in the Southern Conference standings, but have played three more games than the Sundogs.
After dispatching of division foe Austin last weekend by scores of 4-2, and 3-1, the Bucks took three days off for Christmas and will get back to work Wednesday with a 3pm practice session.
The Bucks and Sundogs are at the top of a lot of statistical categories this season. Not only are the two teams first and second in total points, they are first and second in goals scored (Arizona 121, Laredo 107), while the Bucks lead the CHL in shorthanded goals (9) and the Sundogs lead the league in power-play goals (48). ]
This weekend's games will feature at least two of the league's top five scorers in Arizona's Alex Leavitt, and Laredo's Jeff Bes.
As of today, Leavitt is second in the CHL in scoring with 43 points (15-28=43), while Bes is tied for fourth with 40 points (16-24=40).
Arizona's Tyler Redenbach currently leads the CHL in scoring with 44 points, but was recalled to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage on December 18th. It's not certain if Redenbach will be on the Sundogs roster this weekend when the Bucks come to town.
After starting 6-0 on the road this season, the Bucks are just 2-4-2 in their last eight road contests. Arizona meanwhile is an impressive 10-1 at home this season.
The Bucks will fly to Arizona early Thursday morning, and will practice Thursday afternoon in Prescott Valley, before playing on Friday and Saturday. The Bucks will then fly back to Laredo on Sunday to prepare for their New Year's Eve game against division rival Rio Grande Valley.

**All-Stars To Be Announced This Week**
The Southern Conference All-Star Starters will be announced Thursday by the Central Hockey League, with the reserves to be announced Saturday.
The starters were voted on by the CHL office, broadcasters, and selected media members, while the reserves are selected by the Southern Conference coach, Arizona's Marco Pietroniro.
