Brady Burns broke the record for the most career goals scored by a Sea Dog tonight as the Saint John Sea Dogs (17-30-1-1) lost their third straight game at TD Station. The Moncton Wildcats (23-23-0-2) snapped a six-game skid with a 4-2 win on Wednesday night.

Alex Drover and Brady Burns had the goals for the Sea Dogs, Burns' marker being his 109th in his career, which is now the franchise record for all-time goals.

Jonas Taibel scored a goal and an assist while Alexis Daniel had three assists in the win for the Wildcats.

Jacob Steinman stopped 32 of 34 shots to pick up the win in net for Moncton while Olivier Brideau made 24 saves in the Sea Dogs net.

The Wildcats got on the board first a minute into the first period as Taibel put a wrap around underneath Brideau for the 1-0 lead.

Etienne Morin nearly added to the Moncton lead at the period's halfway point, but hit the post on a point-blank chance against Brideau.

With just over seven and a half minutes to play, Charles Beaudoin headmanned the puck up ice to Maxim Barbashev who slid a cross-ice pass to Oscar Plandowski who roofed a backhand shot over Brideau and appeared to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.

However, the play was reviewed and deemed offside, negating Plandowski's goal.

The Sea Dogs answered with 2:54 left in the first as Drover picked off a neutral zone pass, walked in and fired a wrist shot past Steinman to tie the game 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Shots after the first were 12-6 for the Sea Dogs.

Moncton started the second period on the powerplay, and 1:43 into the frame Yoan Loshing almost regained the lead for Moncton with a backdoor shot, but Brideau dove across and got a blocker on it to keep it out.

Three minutes later, Burns was sent in all alone on Steinman, but he was unable to deke the puck past the Moncton netminder.

A few minutes later, Plandowski fired a point shot that beat Brideau clean and this time it stood to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.

With just over nine minutes to play in the second, Daniel entered the Sea Dogs zone and laid the puck off to Barbashev whose ensuing shot trickled through Brideau and over the goal line to put the Wildcats up 3-1.

Shots after the second period were 25-16 for the Sea Dogs.

Just over six minutes into the third, Pavel Simek found Eriks Mateiko all alone in front only for Steinman to make a huge save with his left pad.

Moncton came right back the other way and worked the puck to Loshing in the slot, but Brideau shut the door.

Loshing got another chance five minutes later as a Sea Dogs clearing attempt hit a skate and bounced right on his stick, allowing him to rip a shot past the blocker of Brideau to make it 4-1.

Burns fired home his record-breaking goal late on the powerplay with 1:11 to play to make it 4-2, but that was as close as Saint John would get.

The goal was Burn's 109th career goal which passes Michael Kirkpatrick for the most in Sea Dogs franchise history.

Final shots were 34-28 for the Sea Dogs.
