New York Boulders News Release

For the second consecutive game, the Boulders ended the game in walk-off fashion with a 9-8 victory over Salina Stockade Sunday afternoon to complete a three game sweep.

Up one in bottom half of the last inning, Salina pitcher David Gates faced five batters and didn't retire one. After Kevin Krause doubled, the next four batters reached base on a walk and two came in to score.

In a game that featured five lead changes, Salina struck first on Tino Mention's solo home run in the second before adding on four more in next inning. Williams Salas singled in Jeremy Delgado before coming around to score with Daniel Williams on another homer by Mention.

Rockland knotted the game up at one in the second Mikael Mogues RBI double but fell behind 5-1 by the third inning. That lead only lasted until the next inning when Mikael Mogues doubled in Mike Montville and came home on a Jason Agresti sacrifice fly to center. JC Rodriguez then cranked one beyond the right-centerfield bleachers to narrow the deficit by to one.

The Boulders would go on to score one a piece in the next three innings before before letting a 7-5 lead slip away in the top of the 9th on three hits, three walks, and an error by left-fielder Brandon Martinez.

Rockland responded with two runs right away to win their 4th in a row and improve to (21-15) on the year. Salina drops to (3-12).

The Boulders hit the road starting on Tuesday for three against the division leading Sussex County Miners.
